Mark McKinley To Lead Top 100 CPA Firm Rea & Associates

After conducting a lengthy selection process to determine who would be best suited to lead Rea & Associates, a Top 100 CPA and business consulting firm, over the coming years, Mark McKinley, CPA, was chosen as the firm’s sixth CEO. The Rea & Associates’ board of directors appointed McKinley to serve in this capacity after concluding a comprehensive selection phase. He will formally step into the CEO role on Nov. 1, 2022.

“I’m humbled by this opportunity and thrilled to play a significant role in our future,” said McKinley. “The only reason I’m in this position is because of the dedication and performance of every team member I’ve worked with throughout my Rea career. We have an exciting journey ahead.”

McKinley joined Rea & Associates as a staff accountant in 1994 and quickly grew through the ranks to become a principal. In addition to managing countless assurance, tax, and consulting engagements, he helped set the course for several of the firm’s offices over the years before being tapped to lead as Rea & Associates’ West Central Ohio regional president in 2017. As regional president, a position he will maintain until he is fully acclimated to the CEO role late next year, he oversees the firm’s Dublin and Lima locations as well as the federal tax, state and local tax, business valuation, and construction segments and service lines. McKinley has also served two three-year terms on Rea’s board of directors.

Prior to taking the reins as CEO on Nov. 1, 2022, McKinley will spend several months learning the ropes from the firm’s current CEO, Don McIntosh, CPA. McIntosh was appointed to the role in 2017 McKinley lives in Powell, Ohio.

“Mark will continue Rea’s path of smart growth and prepare us for the future by prioritizing exceptional client service and creating opportunities for our Rea team members,” said McIntosh. “Over the next year, Mark and I will work closely as he learns about the CEO’s responsibilities and transitions his work to other team members. I’m confident in his leadership and excited for this next chapter.”
